HOW DO I START TRANSITIONING ONTO THE GAPS* PROTOCOL?

Updated: Jun 9, 2023

How do I start transitioning onto the GAPS Protocol? | Living in Wellness GAPS Blog

Feeling overwhelmed with reading the books, implementing the protocol, and preparing the food? You’re not alone! We all face this challenge at the beginning when we decide to commit to the GAPS* Protocol. The benefits of GAPS* sounds so rewarding but how do we make changes while keeping sanity in our busy exhausting lives? Many individuals and parents struggle with this, sometimes giving up before even getting started. And it’s not your fault, nor your lack of trying, it’s just really, really hard!

So how do we make the transition? What initial steps do we take? First, start by acknowledging that it doesn’t need to be an instantaneous switch to GAPS*. Like the saying goes, Rome wasn’t built in a day! or Slow and steady wins the race! It’s perfectly acceptable to slowly get prepared for the transition at a pace that fits your needs and current lifestyle. This is why Living in Wellness Coaching Services offers Online Courses for Guided Assistance Transitioning onto the GAPS* Protocol. Read more about them below:

The LIVE Online Courses provide step-by-step support with implementing and incorporating the protocol gradually over a 7-week or 8-week period. The main features of the courses include:

  • Each week you’ll get to participate in a LIVE guided online class where you gain knowledge and skills regarding the GAPS* Protocol.

  • You’ll get to take part in live cooking classes where you learn how to cook common GAPS* staples, learn the Do’s & Don’ts in the kitchen, and ask questions to which you’ll receive live in-person answers. You’ll walk away from the cooking class with GAPS*-ready food.

  • You’ll receive checklists to prepare your home and kitchen for your GAPS* journey.

  • You’ll receive handouts that summarize the important information for the GAPS* Protocol.

  • You’ll be able to view real-time demonstrations, so you feel prepared to do them yourself.

So what is the difference between the 7-week and the 8-week online course?

For individuals wanting to transition onto the GAPS* Protocol, the 7-week LIVE online course transitions you gradually step-by-step onto the Full GAPS* meal plan. You’ll learn how to incorporate the fundamentals of the GAPS* Protocol into your daily regime and build your repertoire of skills to feel confident to thrive on Full GAPS*. From here, you’ll have the ability to progress into any one of the other GAPS* meal plans (Intro GAPS*, No-Plant GAPS*, etc.) if you choose to do so.

For parents wanting to transition their Picky-Eaters onto the GAPS* Protocol, the 8-week LIVE online course gets you prepared and set up to commit to a transition date where all your efforts will focus on the 21-Day Mealtime Management Techniques for your picky-eater. Each week of the online course you will learn the fundamentals of the GAPS* Protocol and stock up on food for the official transition date. The transition date is intended to be set after the program ends, but not before you learn the techniques to address and handle the picky-eating habits that need to be broken.

Note: These online courses are applicable to all ages and variations of skill levels. Come one, come all, everyone is welcome!
